Maryland State Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a shooting suspect who is wanted for attempted murder.
Timothy Lee Whaley, Jr., 45, of Salisbury, was allegedly the shooter implicated in a drive-by shooting that was reported earlier this month in Wicomico County.
At approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, Maryland State Police troopers from the Salisbury Barrack were called to the 500 block of Swan Road to investigate a reported shooting.
According to investigators, Whaley was a passenger in black Volkswagen driven by Salisbury resident Crystal Hutt, 48, and as the pair approached a home on Swan Road, he allegedly began firing at a woman standing in the front yard.
The devious duo then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
Whaley was described as being a 6-foot tall Black man who weighs approximately 190 pounds. He is known to frequent the areas of Keene Avenue and Jersey Road in Salisbury.
State Polices say that Whaley is wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Hutt was arrested the day after the shooting on Monday, April 17, and she is charged with:
- Attempted first-degree murder;
- Attempted second-degree murder;
- First-degree assault;
- Second-degree assault;
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or crime of violence.
She was released from the Wicomico County Detention Center after posting $25,000 bail.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting, or Whaley’s whereabouts has been asked to contact Maryland State Police investigators by calling (410) 749-3101 or the Criminal Enforcement Division Eastern Region at (443) 669-3208.
